# Târgul de Crăciun din Sibiu (Sibiu Christmas Market)

> The Sibiu Christmas Market is Romania's first and most renowned Christmas market, held since 2007 in Piața Mare (the Grand Square) in the historic centre of Sibiu, Transylvania. The 2026 edition runs 13 November 2026 – 3 January 2027. Entry is free. In 2026 it received the EECMA "Excellent European Christmas Market" quality seal — one of only 12 markets recognised across Europe.

## Getting there
- By plane: Sibiu International Airport (SBZ), ~5 km from the centre, direct flights from several European cities.
- By train: Sibiu railway station, ~15-minute walk from Piața Mare.
- By car: A1 motorway (from the west) and national roads DN1/DN7; historic centre is pedestrian-only.
- Parking: City barrier car parks Cazarma 90 and Piața Teatrului; also the Tribunal car park, the railway-station area and Promenada Mall.
